Ta or Ra is pronounced with a clipped vowel sound as in ‘tuck’.

Ta is used in the second syllable of the bol TiTa and DhiTa and is spoken as Ra as in the second syllable of the bol TiRaKiTe.

To play the sound

The stroke is played with the right hand index finger striking the centre of the syahi (black spot) to play a bandh (non-resonant) sound.
