ki (ke or ka)
A simple slap with the left hand to produce a band (closed) sound.
Pronunciation
As it is a closed band stroke this bol should be pronounced with a short clipped vowel like ‘u’ in cut, or even ‘ur’ as in curtain. This bol may be written as ki, ke or ka depending on the context.

To play the sound
This is a very common stroke. It is also the easiest to execute. One simply strikes with the flat palm and fingers to create a flat, slapping sound with no resonance; therefor it is a ‘band’ or closed stroke.
