Pronunciation

Naa is spoken with a long vowel sound ‘ar’ (like Narwal) as in the bol DhinNaa.
Go to DhinNaa

With the same long vowel sound ‘ar’ the spoken bol can also be pronounced Taa (like Tarmac) as in the compound bol TaaGe and TaaKi and Tit TaaKi
Go to TaaKi
Go to TaaGe
Go to Tit TaaKi

To play the sound

The stroke is played the same way for both.

The right hand index finger is struck sharply in the chat (rim) to make a resonant sound, with the last two fingers held lightly against the syahi (black spot) to control the sound. Make sure the middle finger is held away at all times.

The stroke is not to be confused with Tin which also plays a khula stroke with the right index finger except that Tin is struck in the syahi (black spot).

Also not to be confused with Ta (Ra) which also plays with the index finger in the syahi except that Ta is a closed bandh stroke.
